Mr. Ramesh Nadarajah

Mr Ramesh Nadarajah is an adult and paediatric spinal surgeon. He works at Guys and St Thomas’ hospital and also at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He has an honorary contract at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen’s Square, for his adult transition care.

Ramesh provides a dedicated tertiary spinal deformity service to patients from south east England and from other spinal units for patients with complex spinal disorders. The focus of his work is to improve the diagnosis, management and long-term outcome for patients with a spinal deformity at all ages. One area of particular interest is early onset scoliosis and the development of new techniques and instrumentation to grow the spine while controlling spinal deformity. At present, he is a principal investigator of a national prospective trial looking at the use of magnetic growing rods for use in children with scoliosis.

Ramesh is also actively involved in training and teaching undergraduate students and postgraduate doctors and is a faculty member of several national spinal courses. He has published in a number of peer reviewed medical journals and has been an invited speaker in major national and international meetings and conferences.
